Job Description

This is a Packer/Sanitor Position with Frito Lay. As a Packer/Sanitor, you can expect to be working on your feet the entirety of your shift near heavy machinery in a loud manufacturing environment. While we want everyone to feel comfortable, our ability to control the temperature is limited. Indoor working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather. The Summer is very hot, the winter can be cold. Packaging employees will be trained in two positions which will include Packer & General Utility.

After training (a process that lasts around 2-4 weeks), here is a list of the more frequent tasks you could expect to perform, based on where you are crewed for the day/week:

Packer Role:
You will be responsible for forming cases and putting bags in cases
Putting cases on pallets
You will check that products are dated and sealed properly with a minimum amount of wasted product and supplies.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that products to be packed remain clean.
Fill out proper documentation
You will maintain a clean and safe work area. Safety is everyone's job.
You will be responsible for working with a team to clean packaging equipment during changeovers from one product to another.
You will wear protective gear when using chemicals to clean and sanitize lines during changeovers from one product to another.
As general utility you will be responsible for helping keep the packaging room clean and pushing totes of product/film/waste of up to 250 lbs.
It's a physical job: you must be able to lift 50 lbs from floor to waist (e.g. film, seasoning, cartons) with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Sanitor Role:
Ensure that Packaging Room Equipment is properly cleaned to prevent the development of undesirable microbiological growth.

Once trained, will be responsible for cleaning Packaging Flowrites, Ishidas, Ishida Buckets, and/or Bagmakers, plus mopping of the floors in the area you are cleaning.

Will use general clean tools like spray bottles, scrub pads, rags, wipe-alls, putty knifes, mops, mop buckets, brooms, and dust pans.

Will utilize minimal chemicals, Dry San Duo, Soil Off, and Sanitizer as needed.

Duties require individual to be able to stand, bend, utilize step ladders and be able to perform duties of manual labor of wiping down equipment, with rags and or wipe-alls.

Responsible for returning all cleaning materials to the storage areas, once task is completed, daily.

Will be assigned other tasks, by the SX Manager and/or SX Coordinator as needed.
